Raimondo Romanazzi (Funky_Bros)
Per Raimondo Romanazzi, classe 1991, il primo contatto con la musica nera risale all’infanzia, quando la zia gli fa sentire i dischi di Pino Daniele ed Enzo Avitabile. Scopre il Jazz durante le ore di storia della musica alla scuola media, iniziando ad ascoltare in primis Duke Ellington e Count Basie. Negli anni a seguire lo appassiona Stevie Wonder , gli Chic, George Benson, i Jackson Five e la grande musica Disco. Inizia la sua esperienza nel djing a 15 anni, mixando soprattutto deep e soulful house.
Nel 2013 incontra Luigi Cino: collezionista di vinili, un passato nelle radio private e nei club pionieristici degli anni 70, spiccato gusto per il jazz e il funk, venerazione per James Brown e gli Earth Wind & Fire. Dall’amicizia e dalla comune passione per la musica nascono i “Funky_Bros” (nome d’arte del duo) con l’obiettivo di diffondere amore per la Black Music e per il vinile. I djset dei Funky_Bros sono un percorso tra atmosfere e sonorità, partendo da Jazz, Soul e Funk per arrivare alla Disco e ai ritmi dell’Africa e dell’America latina.
Nell arco di oltre tre anni dalle prime esibizioni, i Funky_Bros hanno avuto l’opportunità di mixare i loro dischi in tanti parties, club e festival (Kode1, Fix it Radio, Mood Live & Food, Memory Resort, SuperTele, Underwood Festival, FARM Fesitval per citare i più famosi), crescendo in un contesto di grande entusiasmo.
Attualmente curano il programma musicale “Soul Power” per Yes We Radio, web radio che ha la propria base a Noci, e organizzano periodicamente “Vinyl Terapia” una mostra di copertine e pezzi da collezione. Dal 2016 sono co-fondatori e dj resident della serata “Sunday Funky” (al “Cloud” di Castellana Grotte), un’occasione per vederli mixare dal vivo e ascoltare selezioni di grande raffinatezza e stile.
Il podcast per Dance.Release è un mix di ritmo ed esplosività tra Funk e Disco, fino alle soglie della House music.
For Raimondo Romanazzi, born in 1991, the first contact with Black Music took place during chirdhood, when his aunt made him listening to Soul records of famous italian artists such as Pino Daniele and Enzo Avitabile. He discovered Jazz thanks to music lessons at the secondary school, starting listening especially Duke Ellington and Cound Basie songs. Through the following years he fell in love with Stevie Wonder, Chic, George Benson, Jackson Five and Disco Music. He took up playing as a dj at the age of 15 years, mixing deep and soulful house.
In 2013 he met Luigi Cino: vinyl collector with past experience in pioneering radios and clubs in the 70s, a particular taste for Jazz and Funk and adoration for James Brown and the Earth Wind & Fire. “Funky_Bros” (the name of the duo) were born from friendship and common passion for music, with the mission to spread love for Black Music and vinyl. Funky_Bros djsets are like a journey within atmospheres and sounds, starting from Jazz, Soul and Funk and arriving to Disco, Afro and South-American rhythms.
Over 3 years from the first performances, Funky_Bros had the opportunity to mix their records in a lot of parties, clubs and festivals (Kode1, Fix it Radio, Mood Live & Food, Memory Resort, SuperTele, Underwood Festival, FARM Fesitval just to mention the most famous), growing with enthusiasm.
Currently they are speakers and creators of a radio show called “Soul Power”, on Yes We Radio (a web radio based in Noci). Furhtermore, they periodically organise “Vinyl Terapia” an exhibition of vinyl covers. Finally, they are co-founder and dj resident of “Sunday Funky” night (at “Cloud” in Castellana Grotte), an opportunity to look at them spinning records and compiling selections of great style and elegance.
